Professional ceramic coating across Hampshire and nearby Dorset.

A ceramic coating is only as good as the preparation beneath it. Black Haven cleans, decontaminates, assesses and refines suitable paint before applying professional ceramic protection designed to improve gloss, water behaviour and everyday maintenance.

Ceramic Protection

Professional ceramic paint protection offering up to 4 years of durability.

From £400

Final price varies by vehicle size. Paint needing more than light refinement may require Paint Enhancement or Two-Stage Paint Correction before coating.

Useful protection, honestly explained

What ceramic coating actually changes.

The value is practical: a properly prepared finish becomes glossier, strongly hydrophobic and easier to maintain. The coating still needs careful washing, sensible aftercare and realistic expectations.

01

Easier routine cleaning

Dirt and road film have less tendency to bond firmly to the protected surface. With safe wash methods, routine maintenance becomes easier and less stubborn contamination is left sitting against the finish.

02

Strong water behaviour

Hydrophobic behaviour helps water gather and move from the surface more readily. It is a useful maintenance benefit, but it does not make water spots or mineral deposits impossible.

03

Deeper gloss and clarity

A coating can enrich the gloss and colour depth of properly prepared paint. It cannot hide swirl marks, scratches or haze that remain beneath it, which is why preparation comes first.

04

Everyday environmental protection

The coating forms a sacrificial protective layer between prepared paint and ordinary weather exposure, road film and environmental contamination. Prompt, correct maintenance is still important.

Preparation before protection

The result is decided before the coating is applied.

Coating over poor preparation preserves the poor finish underneath. Cleaning, inspection and responsible refinement establish the surface; the coating then protects that work rather than disguising what was missed.

  1. 01

    Assess

We inspect paint condition, previous repairs, existing protection and the result you want before deciding whether the vehicle is ready for coating.

  2. 02

    Clean and decontaminate

We complete Platinum-level preparation, including appropriate tar, ferrous fallout and bonded-contamination treatment. Clay is used only where the remaining contamination and surface make it suitable.

  3. 03

    Measure and test

The paint is inspected under focused lighting, with paint-depth readings taken across accessible painted panels and a test section used to choose the safest preparation method.

  4. 04

    Refine where suitable

The included light machine refinement is used where it can responsibly prepare and improve paint that already presents well. More visible defects need a different starting point.

  5. 05

    Prepare, coat and cure

Polishing oils are removed, the coating is applied methodically, and the finish is checked for residue or high spots before suitable curing and tailored aftercare guidance.

Clear expectations

Protection—not invincibility.

Ceramic coating is worthwhile when its role is understood. It protects and improves the upkeep of a finish; it is not a substitute for paint correction, impact film or regular care.

What it does

  • Protect the properly prepared finish beneath it
  • Improve hydrophobic water behaviour
  • Make correct maintenance washing easier
  • Help reduce everyday contamination bonding
  • Enhance gloss and colour depth

What it does not do

  • Make paint scratch-proof
  • Stop stone chips
  • Remove existing swirl marks or deep scratches
  • Eliminate the need to wash the vehicle
  • Compensate for poor preparation
  • Replace paint-protection film where physical impact protection is required

Choose preparation by condition

Is the paint ready to be coated?

Paint already presents well

Ceramic Protection

For new, well-kept or lightly marked vehicles where protection and easier maintenance are the priorities. The included light refinement is used only where suitable.

Light wash marks, haze or lost gloss

Paint Enhancement + ceramic protection

A controlled one-stage polish is the more suitable starting point when the finish needs noticeable improvement before it is protected.

Heavier swirls, oxidation or visible defects

Two-Stage Paint Correction + ceramic protection

Separate cutting and refining stages may be needed where lighter preparation cannot responsibly achieve the required finish.

Before you choose

Ceramic coating questions.

Straight answers about preparation, durability and ongoing care before you build the service around your vehicle.

How long does a ceramic coating last?

Black Haven Ceramic Protection uses a professional coating offering up to 4 years of durability. Real-world performance depends on mileage, storage, weather exposure, washing methods and ongoing maintenance. We provide tailored aftercare guidance to help the coating perform as intended.

Will ceramic coating stop scratches and stone chips?

No. It is not scratch-proof and does not provide the physical impact resistance of paint-protection film. It helps protect the prepared finish from ordinary contamination and makes correct maintenance easier.

Does my car need machine polishing first?

Suitable paint may need only the light refinement included in Ceramic Protection. Paint with visible wash marks, haze, oxidation or heavier defects may need Paint Enhancement or Two-Stage Paint Correction first.

Can a brand-new car be ceramic coated?

Yes, but new paint is not automatically defect-free. Delivery marks, contamination or previous dealer preparation may need attention. The existing New Car Protection option can be selected through the live Vehicle Care journey. Explore New Car Protection in live pricing.

Do I still need to wash a ceramic-coated vehicle?

Yes. A coating makes correct washing and maintenance easier; it does not clean the vehicle by itself. Safe regular washing and prompt removal of contamination remain important.

Can ceramic coating be applied at my home?

Potentially, where the space, lighting, weather and curing conditions are suitable. Black Haven reviews those practical requirements before confirming the appointment.
